Soletta's The Road Back Home EP may have some great pop songs, though something doesn't seem completely right about it.
Track 1, "Where You Belong," starts off a bit quiet and picks up as it goes on, pleasing both our calm and excited sides, though it seems a little out of place as the opener of the EP.
The 2nd track, "This Road," seems more likely to really introduce listeners to the EP. The vocals and upbeat pace give it a feel good vibe.
Track 4 which features Fred Mascherino, "The New Wave" is definitely the song that would hook a fan. It's a perfect sing-a-long song and easy to bop your head to.
The pace is slowed with the 5th track, "Only You." Though it is still upbeat, it is much calmer. Plus, it's that cute love song that every girl hopes for on a new album.
Like "Where You Belong," the last track "Wake Up" seems wrong as the last track. It starts off a bit slow and eventually picks up, but not really until between 1 1/2-2 minutes in. Perhaps it would have done better as the second to last song.
Though some tracks seemed out of place, it can't be denied that Soletta's The Road Back Home EP is for sure an upbeat, fun album.
