Baltimore needed a venue comparable to 930 Club for quite some time. Recher can only hold so much, and Merriweather is even more impersonal. December 15, 2004 Rams Head Live opened it's doors. 26000 square feet, up to par with 930 Club's capacity as well as the high level type of acts.
For this new “generation” of show attendees kids, Ram’s Head Live might have, or will be your first show, because your favorite bands that get rotated on MTV play at this venue: Fall Out Boy, Boys Like Girls, Hellogoodbye, Cobra Starship, just to name a few.
What you may not know is that the Ram's Head name isn't just present in Baltimore. Ram's Head is an entire franchise. Although the others are not up to the same level as Ram's Head Live when it comes to performers, the brand has made it's name all over the region. Rams Head Tavern in Savage, MD; Rams Head Shore House in Stevensville, Maryland; Rams Head Roadhouse in Crownsville, MD; Rams Head On Stage in Annapolis, MD being the only other musical venue with shows almost every night that target an older demographic with a lot of singer/song-writer acts, and jazz, blues and country musicians.
