Spring is time for cleaning. Not just your house, but also your life. It’s too nice to have darkness all around—too nice to have skeletons in your closet. Flowers are blooming, love is in the air, and it might be time to clean up that relationship of yours also. Spring is supposed to be easy, and carefree. This month is about just that: out with the old, in with the new! By: Christine
The Used - "Bulimic"
With a chorus that repeats “goodbye to you,” it’s obvious that this song is all about letting go. Bert does it the only way he seems to know how, by getting angry. It certainly gets the point across. It’s about getting out and finally realizing that person you were hanging around for wasn’t worth your time. What sums it the most is the final verse, “I'm about to see a million things I thought I'd never see before and I, I'm about to do all of the things I've dreamed of and I don't even miss you at all .
Simple Plan - "You Don't Me Anything To Me"
Yes, Simple Plan! Simple Plan is known for just getting to the point. The title says it all. You’re done with them, you’ve moved on, and they don’t mean anything to you anymore. Easy and concise, and you can chant and dance around to it.
A Static Lullaby - "Let Go"
Yes, this is a cover of Frou Frou, and better than Boys Like Girls’ cover. It’s where the line “beauty in the breakdown” comes from, if you didn’t know. The original song I also on the Garden State soundtrack, which is absolutely brilliant, if you haven’t checked it out. This song obviously says let go, but it’s also urging you and pushing you to go beyond. What are you waiting for? What’s holding you back? Life’s too short, get out there and live.
The Academy Is... - "Bulls in Brooklyn"
This song comes under much speculation, because frankly, most of it doesn’t make sense. What I interpret it to mean is that this person, whoever Mr. Beckett may be talking about, is stuck back home in Chicago (where the Bulls are from), and he’s out touring the world. He’s giving them a smack to the face, “Don't think you're more than this, or above all this ,” but he’s also at the same time saying how he’s doing alright without them.
Dashboard Confessional – “As Lovers Go”
This is one of the cutest Dashboard songs I know. It’s breezy and light, playful like kisses. Once you’ve ridded your life of all the bad, this is step two or three… It’s got a perfect, infinite kind of feel, the type of love you’re always looking for. “This is easy as lovers go, so don't complicate it by hesitating. And this is wonderful as loving goes; this is tailor-made, what's the sense in waiting?”
